The Swap Party

The Swap Party was one of the most entertaining and engaging activities of the week. In the days before the event, each student selected three pieces of clothing from their own wardrobe that they no longer used but were still in good condition. Instead of throwing these items away or letting them sit forgotten at the back of a closet, they were brought to school to become part of our very own second-hand fashion market.

The classroom was transformed into a lively and colourful space where students could exchange their clothes with one another, discovering new styles while promoting a more sustainable approach to fashion. Laughter and excitement filled the room as everyone searched for their perfect “new” outfit among their classmates’ contributions.

The best part of the activity was that every single garment found a new owner — nothing was left behind. This made the experience not only fun, but also a powerful lesson on how reusing and sharing can reduce unnecessary consumption. The Swap Party showed that fashion can be creative, social, and environmentally responsible at the same time.

This activity naturally led to the Upcycling Workshop: the few garments that were not exchanged were later redesigned and customized, giving them a completely new life. Together, both activities offered students a full journey from reusing to reinventing, showing them practical ways to reduce waste and rethink their relationship with clothing.
